Use the tool. Keep the judgment.

Run a useful check before anyone asks for your email. Keep the result, get a short fix-first list, then choose the next step that fits your role and timing.

Choose by question

What are you trying to figure out?

Start with the question you already have. Each tool gives you the result first. The fit questions come after and are optional.

The working stack

Five tools that have earned a job.

Search research

Ubersuggest

I use it to compare search demand, ranking difficulty, and paid intent before choosing a topic. I last tested its keyword research on August 14, 2026.

Skip it if: you only need an occasional idea and do not need a repeatable keyword workflow.

Search performance

Google Search Console

I use it to see the queries and pages already earning attention, then decide what deserves an update. Exact last-use date is not recorded.

Skip it if: you do not own or manage a website yet. Start with direct reader questions instead.

Measurement

Google Analytics

I use GA4 to connect visits and actions to the campaigns that brought people in. Exact last-use date is not recorded.

Skip it if: a simple newsletter or platform report already answers the decision in front of you.

Reporting

Looker Studio

I use it to turn repeat reporting into a view that leaders can inspect without waiting for a new slide deck. Exact last-use date is not recorded.

Skip it if: your source data is still unreliable. A polished dashboard cannot repair weak inputs.

AI systems

Claude Code

I use it to build and review repeatable agent workflows, with human approval gates around important decisions. Exact last-use date is not recorded.

Skip it if: the work is a one-time task or you are not ready to inspect what the system changes.

Course review queue

Not every course deserves a recommendation.

I have not completed and rated a course for this page yet. HubSpot Academy's Digital Marketing course is in the review queue because it is free and covers useful fundamentals. That is a research candidate, not a recommendation or ranking.

Before I recommend a course, I will finish the relevant material, test one lesson in real work, state who should skip it, and include a free alternative when one exists.

How this page stays honest

The ranking will not be for sale.

If a future link pays a commission, the disclosure will sit beside the link. The verdict will stay the same whether it pays or not.
